July 5, 2008 marks the 12th Annual All American Sawtelle Stampede! This "Fun Run" honors America's birthday, since the Island Park Area Chamber of Commerce established the event as a fun activity for residents and visitors over the Fourth of July weekend. Sawtelle was added to the name last year because the course is near the base of Sawtelle Peak, the landmark mountain seen from just about anywhere in the Island Park caldera.

Red, white, and blue are the All American Sawtelle Stampede's colors, and will be used in all event promotions and to decorate the course

and water stations.

Start time - 8 a. m. Sharp!

Take Sawtelle Peak Road, west of U. S. 20 at the Village Crossroads, to the start line - follow the signs. Our online registration is closed, BUT please register, (check in if you are already registered) at Island Park Lodge, Fri. July 4, 4:30 - 7 pm or Sat. July 5, 7 - 7:45 am at the start line.

Beautiful all cotton tee-shirts and canvas tote bags filled with goodies for all participants! Bags of Gold to TOP overall finishers, gift cards, and medals to top age group finishers.

Water stations with patriotic decorations AND music!

Awesome music by Idaho Liquid Sound at the start-finish area!

Sip on a latte or cappuccino, with an onsite coffee bar while you wait for your loved one to cross the finish line.

Lots of fun for spectators - come and celebrate!

Connie Funkhouser, the Fun Run Director, heads up the Stampede Committee. Her business, Island Park Lodge, is the event's headquarters. You can find registration forms at most area businesses and visitor centers.

Pre-Registration is Friday, June 29 at Island Park Lodge from 4:30-7pm,
